Applications of Hydrogen in Aviation

Hydrogen Fuel Cells

Hydrogen fuel cells convert hydrogen into electricity through an electrochemical reaction. This electricity can power electric motors for aircraft propulsion. They are especially suited for small to medium-sized aircraft and short-haul flights.

Companies like ZeroAvia and Universal Hydrogen are developing hydrogen-electric propulsion systems for regional flights.

Hydrogen Combustion Engines
